Clothes Washer Repair Guide
In this clothes washer repair guide, you will find information on how to repair a washer. I will walk you through the same steps I take in repairing washers professionally. With a little help from this guide, your washer will be repaired in no time. The procedures for clothes washer repair vary greatly depending on the manufacturer. So the first thing you must know is the manufacturer of your clothes washer. Over the years appliance companies have merged, split up and gone out of business. GE Washer Disassembly Guide
New HydroWave GE Washer GE came out with the HydroWave around 2006 and is the quietest washer on the market for the money. But as with all machines it sometimes needs repair. This washer is basically like the older T model washers but without a transmission that makes it much quieter. On this page I discuss HydroWave washers that are not running. Below are links to pages that will guide you in repairing your HydroWave washer. Note that I only talk about the problems that are specific to the HydroWave, so you may have to use the links below in conjunction with the links above to repair your washer.

Maytag (made before 2006)
In this washer repair guide, I walk you through repairing two main styles of Maytag washers, the Newton and the Herrin. These were the two main styles of Maytag washers until 2006, when Whirlpool bought out Maytag. The easiest way to tell if you have a Newton or a Herrin is to tilt the washer over and look underneath. If there are two belts you have a Newton and if there is only one belt you have a Herrin. If you don’t see a belt you have some other type of Maytag washer.
