rinse dispenser leaking fluid like silacone oil

We have a 1989 Kenmore Classic dishwasher, and it seems it is leaking some kind of fluid from the rinse dispenser opening,(on the inside door) like brown gel or oil. Was wondering what this could be. I think this Kenmore dishwasher was made by Whirlpool, Admiral, Inglis, all similar on the inside for that time.

Answer

Hi Ken,

I am not quite sure what it could be. Is it coming from where the rinse aid is poured? You could try removing the rinse aid dispenser and cleaning it. You will have to separate the inner door from the outer door to access the dispenser.
