I have changed the thermal fuse and cleaned out the vent and the dryer door as well. My dryer will turn on and run for about 5-10 minutes and then shut off. What would cause this problem?

Answer

Hi,

Most of the time this is caused by a bad motor but just to rule out the moisture sensor, try it on timed cycle rather than automatic cycle. If it does the same thing then the motor is more than likely is bad. Try cleaning off any lint off the motor and if that doesn’t help replace the motor. Below is a link to your motor.

I was using my dryer, which was working fine, and when I went to get the last load, the dryer wasn't running. The clothes were damp,so I turn it on, pushed the button and nothing happened. What could be the problem?

What is the model number?

The most common things are the thermal fuse and the door switch.

This model is made by Whirlpool; the thermo fuse is the most common thing that will cause this followed by the door switch. This page will help.

my thermal fuse is ok. my start switch is ok. my dryer runs forever on air dry cycle. shuts off on other two heat cycles after about 1 minute of heat. will run again after I let it cool down. door switch must be ok because dryer will run continuously when not calling for heat. I don't see this problem adressed in any other question list. Help
