Hi,

The start relay or the compressor is bad. What you need to do is replace the start relay and if that doesn’t work then the compressor is bad. What happens is when the start relay is bad the compressor will try to start but it fails to start, when it fails to start it overheats and kicks out the overload. One sure way to tell if the relay is bad is to remove it and shake it and if it rattles it is bad.
