How Do I Separate Inner Door From Outer Door
I have an O'Keefe & Merritt dishwasher from about 1986. It looks similar to the dishwasher pictures on your web site, particularly the detergent dispenser that is not working.
When I unscrewed the inner door from the outer door, I could only pull the inner door out about an inch, because there is a lever connected to the inner door that goes thru a slot in the control section on the top of the outer door. The handle on the lever won't fit thru the slot.
How can I get the inner door separated from the outer door? I can't see how to remove the control section on the top of the outer door (assuming that an amateur like me should even attempt that). Need A Part Start Here

I am not at all familiar with that brand. If you gave me the model number I could look it up to see.
What you describe to me seems like it is the door latch lever that is causing your problem. If this is the case there should be a little plastic knob on the end of the door latch that should come off to allow the lever to slip though the slot in the door.
