dirty dishes

my dishwasher is leaving a gritty sandlike material in all glasses and cups. I have cleaned it out several times and changed soap to cascade complete. What should I do?

Answer

Hi,

The most common cause for this is that the water temperature isn’t hot enough. The hot water should be 130 or higher. One thing that is commonly overlooked is that it takes longer for hot water to get to the kitchen than it takes for the dishwasher to fill therefore the dishwasher fills with cold water. First try running the hot water at the sink until the water gets hot then start the dishwasher. If that doesn’t work try turning you hot water heater up. If this doesn’t help let me know and we will go from there.

Thank you,
