Can't remove lower washarm

by dhbski
(west palm beach, fl)

Whirlpool Model DU1301xtvq2 - Have read other comments and other websites. I understand that arm sits on support shaft. I should either be able to lift the arm straight off, or I should be able to rotate the arm counterclockwise while lifting. I have tried both methods repeatedly, rocking, turning and wiggling, and am not able to get the arm off. Any help would be appreciated.

Answer

Hi,

I am almost sure on this model it is different from what you have been reading. I believe what you have to do is turn the little nut on top of the wash arm to the right to unlock the wash arm then it should come right off. The nut doesn’t come completely off you simply rotate it to unlock the wash arm. I hope this helps!

Thank you,
