No water flowing into ice maker

by Pete
(Tampa, Fl)

One day the water just stopped flowing into the ice maker. I've replaced the water filter in the grill and the water flows fine thru the door dispensor.
Any idea what I should check?

Answer

It is most likely the water valve. First look into the tube that feeds water into the icemaker to see if it is clogged with ice. If so clean it out and replace the water valve.

If it is not clogged make a jumper wire with just a short piece of insulated wire skinned on each end. Then remove the front of the icemaker and place the jumper from L to V. If doesn’t enter the icemaker the water valve is the problem.

If water does enter the icemaker place the jumper form T to H. Once done the icemaker should cycle and if not the motor/modular is bad.

If the icemaker cycles and runs water but will not cycle again replace the whole icemaker.
