MDBTT60AWW maytag dishwasher won't start

by kelly
(Michigan)

My dishwasher will not turn on. When I push the start button, the lights dimly come on and then turn off. Nothing happens. I tried to turn it off and then back on, no luck..

Answer

Hi Kelly

Here are Replacement parts in MAYTAG MDBTT60AWW
icon

I believe you have a bad main board or a loose connection. What often happens with a loose connection is things such as small lights that don’t draw a lot of current will work but when something larger such as the motor or the water valve tries to run it completely cuts out. The loose connection could be where the electric connects to the dishwasher, in the switch box, on the main board or anywhere in-between.

If there is no loose connection I believe the main board is bad.

Be sure to disconnect power before looking for a loose connection or replacing the main board.

Thank you,
