Ice Maker

I have a Whirlpool ED22DQXAB00 Refrigerator. The ice maker stopped working-I followed the instructions on the website and with a jumper wire got the ice to dump-it refilled and all seemed well.Tonight I put my hand in and touched the bottom surface of the ice maker and got an electrical shock. This can't be good-Any thoughts??

That’s not very good! I recommend taking the icemaker out until you can get a replacement!

It sounds like the mold heater is grounded out. You will have the replace the icemaker.

One last question
by: Jeff

I'm also getting a small leak into the ice bin. Every couple of days there is an ice jam to the point that I can't dispense the ice through the door. The feed line seems to be OK and sitting properly in the groove.

Connected or 2 different problems-this is the original ice maker and it's about 15 years old.

Thanks
