Ice maker not dispensing

The ice maker is making ice just fine, but it isn't dispensing when you press the button. Once it has been in there for a while the ice freezes then we have to defrost and empty the bin. It sounds like the motor engages for a second, but then disengages. The teeth look fine on the gear. Answer Hi Brent, I need the model number. But it sounds like the icemaker may be leaking causing the ice to freeze in one large clump of ice. Does this sound like what is happing? If so the auger motor may be frozen and you are going to have to take the ice bin out and remove the auger motor housing. Then melt the ice and free the motor up. Then you will have to find out why the icemaker is leaking, watch it go though a cycle and see where it is leaking.
