Amana (maytag) ice maker stopped working
Model number AFD2535DEQ The ice maker stopped working. Tubes are not clogged, cold enough, water despenser working properly. Arm is in right position. Door is closed tight (bottom freezer) If you can help in anyway it would be appreciated. No tubes kinked or anything. Thank you kindly Answer Hi, Replacement parts for AMANA AFD2535DEQ Ref - Bottom Mounts Take the front off the icemaker and you should see test hole marked with letters. Make a jumper wire out of a short piece of insulated wire skinned on both ends. Place one end of the jumper in test hole marked T and the other in the test hole marked H. Then you may have to press the door switch to make it start the cycle since it is a bottom freezer. If it will not cycle the motor/modular is most likely bad. The parts breakdown says that the motor/modular isn’t available but I am almost sure the Whirlpool one will fit. Whirlpool Motor click here to order To be on the safe side you could replace the whole icemaker. If it cycles but will not run water the water valve is most likely bad. If it cycles runs water but doesn’t cycle again the thermostat is most likely bad. I recommend replacing the whole icemaker in this case. I hope this helps!!
